The whole month of December, enjoy the lights, the huge Christmas tree and the festive season in Wallsend.
Wallsend’s iconic landmark rotunda, the biggest Christmas tree and a bevy of spectacular lights will shine once again for the month of December.
The Wallsend Christmas celebration will delight everyone during December when we officially switch the lights on the Christmas Tree on the 1st. There’ll be snow, Christmas carols from local children and of course it wouldn’t be a celebration without Santa who will be on hand to do the all-important press of the big red button to turn the lights on. Refreshments will be on hand so everyone is invited to come down and have their photo taken with Santa and enjoy the festivities from 6.30pm.
Other special highlights throughout the month of December, locals can enjoy Christmas themed performances by the Hunter’s favourite kiddies’ group, Little Scallywagz on Saturday 3, 10 and 17 at 11am and 12.30pm, the Conscious Christmas Markets at the Rotunda on December 10 from 10am to 1pm and joyous Christmas carols performed by the very popular and versatile quartet ‘After Five’, at the Rotunda on December 21, 22 and 23 from 6-7pm.
