While Sydney is set to play host to the biggest celebration of pride and diversity in the world in 2023, Newcastle has also been given a rather delicious seat at the table, too.
That’s because Pink Salt, the signature “foodie” event of Sydney World Pride is headed to The Station for a colourful cornucopia of culinary camp in February 2023.
With a bill of entertainment fare curated by Newcastle’s very own “hostess with the mostest” Timberlina, the event will feature a sumptuous three-course extravaganza prepared by Newcastle’s own Cake Boi Reece Hignell, and renowned chefs Christine Manfield and Nornie Bero.
Christine is a highly regarded chef, award-winning author, food and travel writer and restauranteur known for such highly regarded restaurants as Sydney’s Paramount and Universal, and London’s East@West.
Nornie Bero, meanwhile, is Australia's pre-eminent Torres Strait Islander chef.
As owner and executive chef of Mabu Mabu in Melbourne, and author of Mabu Mabu: An Australian Kitchen Cookbook, Nornie is a passionate champion of sharing the food culture she grew up with.
Aside from the mouth-watering fare on the table, Pink Salt will also feature a dizzying array of entertainment including performances from Molly Poppins, Jojo Zaho, Cockington Black and Orlando Gloom.
So, get ready to party, Newcastle. This is going to be fabulous.
