Great Southern Nights is back in 2022, a celebration of live music taking place right across NSW. Running from 18 March until 10 April, Great Southern Nights features a line-up of free, intimate, and big sound events to give you that music festival fix you've been craving.
With a star-studded line up of Australian artists performing hundreds of COVID-safe gigs in hundreds of venues and towns right across NSW, there’s a good chance you’ll find a Great Southern Nights gig near you!
Local participating venues include Carrington Bowling Club, Babylon, Kahibah Sports Club, Lizotte's, The Cambridge Hotel and many, many more. To see the full gig guide for what's on in the Hunter, check out the Great Southern Nights website.

Saturday 19 March, free event
Purveyors of the finest line-ups and festivals, (The Gum Ball, Dashville Skyline, Thrashville) Dashville brings their famous brand of cosmic country and good times to the space outside the Civic Theatre Bar. Featuring Magpie Diaries, Dave Wells, CJ Stranger and Turpentine Babycino, there will be lots of room outdoors for families and all lovers of live music.

Join us for a special one-off intimate performance in the Playhouse with Australian folk, rock, and blues singer songwriter Kim Churchill.

Get ready for a fusion of roots, reggae, soulful funk and dub, that will lift your spirits and get you moving! Gambirra MOB are an 11-piece powerhouse band fronted by exotic women whose roots are from N.E. Arnhemland. Be prepared to be enchanted and uplifted by this dynamic and empowering band.

Get ready for a massive concussion of rock'n'roll with City Hall Sounds - showcasing all things modulated, reverberated, fuzzed out and delayed. With performances from two of Australia's premier psych-rock outfits The Laurels and Grinding Eyes, along with local legends Fungas and The Med Heads, this one is not to be missed.
