Newcastle to Transform Into a Winter Wonderland

  • 15 June 2023

With Old Man Winter nipping at our heels you’d be forgiven for wanting to hibernate under a blanket binge watching your favourite TV show.

Well, a new family friendly event hitting Newcastle later this month, is sure to tempt you to get your skates on and get out and about.

Winter Fun Fest 2023 will see Nobby’s Beach Reserve transformed into an icy wonderland full of wintry entertainment for all ages.

The centrepiece of the Winter Fun Fest is an enchanting ice rink, giving you the chance to lace up your skates and glide across the ice, either channeling your inner Torvill and Dean or just enjoying the thrill with friends and family.

Best of all, the rink is open to all skill levels, meaning beginners and experts alike can enjoy the magical atmosphere.

The fest will also feature an array of activities and attractions including rides for the thrill-seekers, such as The Freak Out and Avatar and carnival classics like dodgem cars, spinning teacups and a kids’ roller coaster.

There will be plenty of tasty treats on offer, too.

Grab the kids and treat the whole family to a bag of Fairy Floss or a Dagwood Dog, Twisted Chips, Slushies and more!

Who can say no to the carnival classics?

Oh, and don't forget your favourite show bags filled with sweets and lollies!

Local kids’ entertainment group Little Scallywagz will also be joining the festivities with roaming shows and craft activities.

Newcastle Winter Fun Fest is on at Nobbys Beach Reserve from Thursday 29 June to Sunday July 16. Tickets to the event are just $5 each and will be sold at the event. Head here for more information.
