If you are a foodie, check out the fabulous hands-on cooking classes at the Essential Ingredient in September. Everyone's tastes are catered for this month with traditional handmade pasta, South Indian vegetarian cooking, whole fish cooking class, intolerance friendly baking, night market noodles and a steak masterclass.
If sewing is more your thing, Sonny & Scout are hold two sewing workshops at Wallsend Library to teach aspiring sewers how to make a bag on September 8 and a cushion on September 14.

Linuwel School is holding their Spring Fair and Open Day on September 10 which includes market stalls, music, entertainment and storytelling, handcrafted toys and gifts, raffle, craft activities and more.
Calling all sea(foodies)! Soak up some Vitamin Sea and feast your way through the huge variety of food at the Seafood and Cider Festival. A 'sofishticated' day of the freshest locally caught seafood, tastiest local brews and entertainment.

Wallsend library will play host to several author events this September including; Christine Sykes who with discuss her latest book The Tap Cats of the Sunshine Coast, which was inspired by Christina and her Aunt's experience taking up tap dancing in retirement.
On September 20, don't miss an entertaining conversation with Petronella McGovern, who will chat about her newest book 'The Liars'. This is the third book from the bestselling author and explores a compelling family drama of marital secrets and family tensions set within an investigation of sinister unsolved killings.
The Newcastle Library will also host some author events this September including Paintings by Number from acclaimed artist and scientist Keith Nesbitt and the live launch of 'Acts Of Cruelty: Australia’s Immigration Laws and experiences of people seeking protection after arriving by plane' by Aileen Crowe.
On September 8, you're invited to The Essential Ingredient for the launch of Port to Plate by Lynda Sloan; a book that champions the sustainable seafood heroes of Port Stephens. Attendees will be treated to author chats, demonstrations by Chef Ludovic Poyer of The Poyer's, wine tastings and more.
