Mother’s Day is almost upon us again and there are no shortage of ways, right across Newcastle to spoil those special women in our lives.

Miss Porter's Mother's Day Open House

Miss Porter’s House Museum
Treat Mum to a slice of history and enjoy the special displays of memorabilia belonging to the Porter women of 20th century Newcastle West. Enjoy a tour of the house and browse the homemade craft and plant stall.
The museum is the former home of the remarkable Porter women and the collection includes clothing, photographs, craft work and household items of Florence and her daughters. Herbert Porter died in 1919 during the influenza epidemic, leaving his young family to make their own way through the 20th century. The Porter sisters, Hazel and Ella, never married and supported their mother throughout her life. Both grandmothers of the Porter sisters were equally remarkable and strong women.
Mothers Day Classic
Griffith Park, Stockton

Want to enjoy an active Mother’s Day, while doing your bit to eradicate the scourge of breast cancer? Well, the Stockton Foreshore is the place to be for this year’s Mother’s Day Classic.
The day will feature a 5-kilometre run, kicking off at 8am, and a 5km walk, kicking off at 9am at Stockton’s Griffith Park.
You’ll be able to make a morning of it, too with plenty of coffee, bakery treats, flowers and gifts, face painting for the kids and more.
Proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
