Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest!

This production tells the mostly true story of Australia's favourite internet sensation: Jack Karlson, subject of the viral Democracy Manifest video. Karlson was a notorious crim - car thief, factory burglar and serial prison escapee, but he could never guess that, for all his misdeeds, he'd become world-famous for his verbose and theatrical 1991 arrest. This very serious theatre work shows us the pivotal moments in his life that (may have) inspired his great monologue. The musical numbers are 100% accurate.

"It seemed the best way to honour Jack," says director Kate Stewart, "creating a theatrical spectacle to highlight the absurdity of police injustice and the ways in which the system can leave so many people behind. We also just really wanted to write a song about judo."

At Your Service Theatre Co. is proud to be premiering this work with Newcastle Fringe. Don't say ta-ta and farewell to Fringe Festival before you've seen this show!
