Sydney based Dream pop princess Abby Bella May combines floating vocals with lush production to form a unique low-fi sound that is all her own. Inspired by artists like Clairo, Maggie Rogers, and Benee, Abby’s music is an intimate snapshot of youth; reflections of her life, and the lives of those she is closest to. Her songs ground themselves in personal stories, manifesting as fun and catchy lyrics that draw listeners into her world and make them want to stay awhile. Abby’s music is genuine bedroom pop, produced in a Bondi Beach home with her producing partner and best friend Oscar Sharah. A confessional lyricist, May's songs embody relatability and authenticity, offering a window into the highs and lows of modern relationships: desiring friendship with no strings attached, rediscovering independence in love and not giving any time to sexist and immature personalities she crosses paths with. Equal parts honest, endearing, and catchy, Abby's music speaks to both th e mundane and the otherworldly, combining to create a fiercely personal body of work. The release of Abby’s last single, “ice cream” put her at the brink of something big- it earned placement on Spotify’s New Music Friday (AU & NZ), Chill af, Softly and Brekkie time playlists, alongside airplay on triple j’s Home and Hosed and FBI’s Local Fidelity and The Bridge. With the next single from her debut EP to be released in August, Abby Bella May is definitely one to watch.
