Join local artist Rachel Milne as she guides participants through the stages of creating a still life painting with acrylics.
Participants will be guided through observation techniques, composition, colour, lighting and provided tips on how to give their still life painting interest and substance. Participants will look to find the beauty and harmony in the everyday and take home a series of small drawings and a medium sized canvas.
All materials will be supplied. Option to bring along your own sketch pad. Suitable for beginners.
Cost: $95 per person, includes lunch.
About the artist
Rachel Milne is a nationally recognised award-winning local artist who produces intimate paintings and portraits set in her home and studio, as well as plein air landscapes of iconic places in Newcastle laden with social history. Milne was awarded winner of the Singleton Portraiture Prize in 2013, has been a finalist in the KILGOUR PRIZE at Newcastle Art Gallery in 2014, 2016 and 2018, as well as the prestigious Wynne Prize in 2017 and 2018 at the Art Gallery of NSW.
