A rare opportunity to go behind the scenes in the Civic Theatre on a guided backstage tour.
Take a Behind the Curtain tour of the Civic Theatre and discover the secrets of one the most iconic Theatres in Australia. Led by one of our Team Leaders, this 60-minute tour is a rare opportunity that takes you to the heart of the Theatre.
This backstage tour is a great chance to go behind the scenes; see the workings of the theatre and walk down memory lane as we chat through the theatre's fascinating history.
Guided Tours are delivered in English and there are 20 spaces available per tour.
Running time 60mins.
Mobility Access Tour 26 September 11am.
Suitable for people of varying levels of mobility including the use of wheelchairs, walkers or other mobility aids. This tour will cover the ground levels only, as due to the heritage restrictions upper level access involves stairs.
There is a 5 minute drop-off zone located at 282 King Street (outside Crystalbrook Kingsley), approximately 150m from Civic Theatre.
Accessible Parking spaces can be found at the following locations near our venues:
- Burwood Street - 5 spaces
- Auckland Street - 2 Spaces
Spaces are also provided in the carpark behind the Newcastle Regional Library, accessed via Queen Street.
