Conducted by David Banney, with Maria Lindsay (violin)
Newcastle's Christ Church Camerata continues its 2021 season with a lively program of Gypsy-inspired music. The centrepiece will be the Violin Concerto by legendary Hungarian-born maestro Tommy Tycho. It was written for our concert soloist, Sydney violinist Maria Lindsay, who will also play Sarasate's brilliant "Gypsy Airs". The concert starts with Bartok's colourful "Rumanian Folk Dances", and ends with Dvorak's sublime "Serenade for Strings". Covid safety measures will be in place, so early arrival is recommended.
Use code "2021discount" for 10% off before midday, 28 May. A full refund will be provided if the concert is cancelled due to Covid-19 regulations.
