Discover HIDDEN TREASURES at Miss Porter's House with the nationally recognised Documentary Heritage Collection 1910-1997 on display. The UNESCO registered Miss Porter's House collection is of  historical significance for its comprehensive and sometimes quirky coverage of the domestic life of a housdehold of ordinary women living in a regional town across the 20th century. There are over two thousand documents in the collection.

The Porter women kept scrapbooks of their leisure activities, and these are now an unusual and rare record of the detail of early 20th century social history. The 1935-38 radio scrapbook and the 1940s movie scrapbook contain magazine and newspaper clippings about favourite programs and personalities. Included in household records is a detailed account of the costs of keeping their dog, Cooee. The original advetisement, vet's bills, food costs etc show that up until his death in March 1990, his expenses totalled $1078.63.
