City of Newcastle is hosting a free, wetland-themed day full of activities for all ages as part of Australia's largest community tree planting event, National Tree Day. Come celebrate National Tree Day at Tarro Wetlands with friends and neighbours.

By getting your hands dirty, you'll be helping to expand our urban forest with 4000 native plants, improve the health of the wetland and restore habitat for local fauna.  In addition to planting, there will be a variety of fun activities, including wetland tours, waterbug dip-netting, face painting, nature crafts, tea and coffee and more.

This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to your community and enjoy a day out in nature. Don't miss it!

Please wear appropriate clothing (hat, covered shoes, long-sleeved shirt, and long pants recommended). Gloves, tools, and equipment for planting will be provided.

How to get there: Parking and access to Tarro Reserve is from the gate at the corner of Chichester Avenue, Tarro.
