Newcastle Libraries is offering an exciting opportunity to learn how to make your own podcasts. Guided by an expert tutor, you will have the chance to use professional equipment to record, edit and publish your own work.

Delivered over weekly sessions, this course will cover everything you need with a focus on building skills and confidence to create a podcast.

Let your creativity shine through, talk about anything you are interested in. Consider creating a podcast on a specific niche that you're knowledgeable and passionate about, such as a hobby, a career, or a particular subject you're an expert in.

Record your memories, share your experience, and bring your story out to the world.

Course dates and times:

Two courses of four workshops

  • Thursdays 4, 11, 18, 25 May - 3-5pm
  • Thursdays 8, 15, 22, 29 June - 3-5pm

Information about workshops:

  • Workshop 1: What is a podcast, developing your podcast idea, writing scripts.
  • Workshop 2: Planning structure and style, sharing ideas, Interview techniques
  • Workshop 3: Tech confidence, using equipment and basic editing, how to promote and share your podcast, planning what’s next.
  • Workshop 4: Recording. In the final session you will have the chance to record your work and take it home with you!

Upon successful completion of the course will also receive 1 hour of free recording time at the podcast and media room at The Digital Library at 12 Stewart Avenue.
