Newcastle Music Festival presents Susan Collins, one of Australia's finest violinists, deputy Concert Master of Opera Australian Orchestra. Experience the rapturous sounds of Johann Sebastian Bach performed in the hushed darkness and spellbinding atmosphere of the Cathedral, as Susan performs Bach’s Chaconne,

Yehudi Menuhin called the Chaconne “the greatest structure for solo violin that exists”, and violinist Joshua Bell has said the Chaconne is “not just one of the greatest pieces of music ever written, but one of the greatest achievements of any man in history. It’s a spiritually powerful piece, emotionally powerful, structurally perfect.” It’s the piece that which always makes listeners wonder just how many violins are being played, and then you realise… just one.

Open seating. Door sales unless sold out. Fees and charges apply to online bookings.
