Ever wondered what happens to the contents of your bin once it's emptied into the collection truck?

This World Environment Day, join us for a behind-the-scenes look at Newcastle's Waste Management Centre.

The tour will depart from Wallsend Library and will include a stop at the Summerhill Education Room, before a visit to the onsite resource recovery centre and landfill.

Here you will find out what happens to your recycling, green waste and general waste, how we process it and what we are doing to reduce our impact on the environment.

Please wear enclosed shoes and children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bookings essential. Only 40 tickets available, so register early to book your spot!

Important Accessibility Information: The venue is wheelchair accessible. If you have any access or inclusion needs, please email library@ncc.nsw.gov.au by no later than 21 May so we can ensure we have accessible transport booked for you.

This workshop is part of our Low Waste Living program, proudly delivered by Newcastle Libraries and Waste Services.
