Are you the next Australian Poetry Slam Champion?
Write a revolution. Write to speak. Write to be heard in Australia’s largest performance poetry competition!
Presented by Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Maitland Libraries and hosted by Sara Crane as part of the Hunter regional Stand up for Poetry program. Poets have two minutes to perform their original work; no props, no costumes, no music. Judges are randomly chosen from the audience. The two highest-scoring poets will represent the Hunter region in the NSW Final!
This will be a combined heat and final. There will be two rounds, with a quarter getting through to the 2nd round (the final). So you will need 2 poems. In the event of a tie you will need a 3rd poem.
20 performers max so sign up early. Hunter region residents only. If something happens and you can't make it let us know in advance.
