An event coordinated and presented by the Newcastle Art Gallery Society.

The story of dogs and how they came to inspire and shape the art of a nation is the untold story of Australian art. Steven Miller, former head of the Research Library and Archive at the Art Gallery of New South Wales takes a whimsical, yet erudite approach to revealing the presence of dogs in Australian art.

Discover the crucial role dogs have played in the various stylistic shifts that have occurred in the debates about abstraction and figuration, and the rivalries between schools and cities.
