PARIS IN RUINS: LOVE, WAR, AND THE BIRTH OF IMPRESSIONISM by Sebastian Smee (Text Publishing 2024).
Winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Sebastian Smee portrays the city of Paris during the summer of 1870 to the spring of 1871. The chaos of that time was the backdrop for the early days of Impressionism and for an affair of the heart between two eminent artists.
