Take a step back into history in the heart of the city. Visitors of all ages can explore Porter family stories and discover the secrets of an Edwardian home. Chat with friendly, knowledgeable guides or take a self-directed tour.

Enjoy the Porters' stencilled ceilings, period garden, historic fernery, furniture, craftwork and a century of household items. The house is a little jewel and a wonderful social history resource.

Built by Herbert Porter in 1909, the family lived in their terrace home until 1997. Now a National Trust property, it survives with contents intact as a living snapshot of life in twentieth century Newcastle.

Explore on an Open Day or book a special group tour, morning or afternoon tea, school visit or walking tour round the Porters' neighbourhood.
