Scandinavian Glass: Orrefors to Ikea by Antiques Roadshow Expert Andy McConnell
The Nordic countries played a major role in the development of modern glassmaking. Rivalries abounded. Sparks flew and ideas were ‘borrowed'. The result was an outpouring of designs of all types, the evolution of which is explored in these talk.
The two lectures (with a break for morning tea) will be followed by a glass appraisal. Bring in that family heirloom or bargain piece from the op shop and Andy will appraise it. (Owners assume all responsibility for any damage and should arrive with their piece by 9:45.)
