Nineteen artists explore, challenge and interrogate the dialogue that has long existed between sculptural form and the natural environment for this exhibition; Sculpture in the Botanic Gardens + Watt Space Gallery.
Each artist has chosen their own site within which to work among the 130 acres of the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens, site and specifics are at the core of the developed work.
Each artist was invited to accompany their outdoor work into domestic scale sculptures as maquettes or companion pieces to the in situ works for exhibition at Watt Space Gallery. The primary inspiration extends the visual narrative from the large-scale sculptures to those in the mediated gallery environment.
The exhibition will be showing from July 21 - September 10.
