Join us at Civic Park for a weekend of Family Fun from 11am - 3pm on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 March.
Both days will feature FREE activities all day, including toddler messy play stations hosted by the Creative Co, where little hands can engage in play concepts such as play dough, painting, goop, slime, water play and sensory textures.
Race your mates on the jumbo slide, bring out your inner fairy or tiger with free facepainting, partake in fun interactive workshops and enjoy some special performances and live music each day.
Food vendors will be on-site for you to get a sweet fix, coffee hit or tasty snack, or you can bring a picnic from home or takeaway from one of the many local cafes and restaurants along Darby St and the Civic Centre, allowing you to make a day of it and soak up the fun atmosphere.
Saturday 11 March
Get creative with the whole family with arts, crafts, a community mural wall, free temporary tattoos and roving performers to inspire and delight.
The Creative Co will be hosting Toddlers Messy Play Stations for little ones aged 4 months to 5 years, along with special 35-minute Expressive Art Teen Workshops at 11am, 12pm and 1pm perfect for high-school aged children. No pre-booking is necessary – just rock up and be ready to express yourself on canvas guided by our friendly instructors.
Newcastle Music Academy will hit the stage with hour long sets at 11am and 1pm, featuring talented local musicians.
Featured food trucks and vendors include Sno Cones, Barista Gals Coffee, Newy Spiral Spuds and Lulus Gelato.
Sunday 12 March
Enjoy the sounds of Sunday with live performances by Newcastle Music Academy, HSPA Marching Band, Belair Public School Band, a DJ and Earthen Rhythms.
Hit the outdoor dancefloor at the Silent Disco or make some noise and release some energy at the free 45 minute drumming workshops hosted by Earthen Rhythms at 11am, 12pm and 1pm. These dynamic classes will help you learn the art of drumming, relax and experience joy through the drum. Whether you are a beginner or advanced level wanting to be pushed to your limit, there is always something more to learn or experience.
